Martha's My middle name

Well even Martha Stewart had to start somewhere, why not at a kitchen table in Arkansas- just as long as Aleksa doesn't end up in prison... Aleksa lOVES to do crafts especially all of my crafts that would be better without her help- so I harnessed her crafting into a project that was all her own and she loved it- we will be doing many more projects in the future.

Priceless

This is Aleksa with her Great Grandma Walker, who came out to visit last week. This is the only picture I took of Aleksa and Grandma in the whole week she was here- how lame am I? But I think this one is a keeper. Aleksa LOVED having Grandma all to herself. They played puzzles, read books, collected treasures outside and just talked.
How did we repay Grandma for her priceless hours of entertaining Aleksa- we took her to Mama Dean's (where she paid thus negating the whole us repaying her idea...) for the best soul food you will ever eat- no joke. You want to enter a blissful grease induced coma afterwards but it hurts so good. Am I getting old though? - it gave me heartburn this time and I had to take some antacids but oh just thinking about it makes my stomach grumble.

Grandma and Liny with their "redtops" fresh squeezed lemonade topped with fruit punch- it the sugar equivalent of an entire bag of Halloween candy in one jar.

Soup with Crackers...

As we were leaving church Saturday I asked Aleksa what she wanted for lunch... this is what I got...
Aleksa: "ummmm.. soup....an... crackers..."
Me: "Do you want a sandwich with soup?"
Aleksa: "yeah...wis...chesse mom cheeese..."
So I put her to work when we got home to make soup an crackers and cheese sandwiches.

Pumpkin Patch

Cam has been sick with the flu so Saturday Aleksa and I ventured out to find some pumpkins. Last year we went to a real live pumpkin farm but also ripped the undercarriage off our car so we kept it much more domestic this year and I am happy to report our car is completely in tact and the only money was spent was on the pumpkins this year. :)

Aleksa LOVED the pumpkins with the {warts} on them, she's really into the whole witch thing this year I guess...

Why the face Aleksa? No clue, she's two....

New trick or treat bag, I can't stop...
Dear Monday,
I'm glad you only come once a week- because you are killing us. You end the weekend and bring us crashing back to reality. You kind of stink. And the weather you gave us today was stinky too. I will give you a pass today though(just today though), because you gave us a great Family Home Evening with friends, and ended with Aleksa singing "I love to see the Temple." So today we will forgive you for being the crappiest day of the week, good luck next week.
Love, the walkers

yum..apple...

Since Aleksa has turned two several things have happened, she has started talking like a maniac, wearing high heals,
she started to cut her last molar- resulting in whining, fevers and general strife at our house (thank goodness she has to lose teeth before she can get anymore!) and she has been doing crazy things I cannot explain...

like this...Yes, that is a tomato....

...apparently she thought it was an apple, boy was she surprised, and yes I do let my daughter dig through the fridge.

Eat your heart out Cade. xoxo

Where's my sticker?

This past week we took Aleksandra in for her 2 yr old check up. Everything looks great, she is right about the 25th for height and weight. She had to finish up 2 shots which we were dreading but she got the shots and the nurse put a little sparkly band aid on her leg. I told her that she did such a great job that she could have a sticker when we checked out. We went to the desk and Aleksa looks at the lady and says- "where my sticker?" the lady explains to Aleksa that they only have rings and other little trinkets now, so we pick one out and Aleksa looks at the lady again and says "where my sticker?". I told Aleksa that we would get her one at home, we walk outside and Aleksa notices the band aid for the first time and leans down, rips it off and sticks it on her shirt and says "sticker". Great a bloody band aid on her shirt- oh well whatever makes her happy, but wait it gets better halfway home Aleksa decides to share her band aid... with me- yum. So like any mom I let her put her band aid/sticker on my shirt and wear it proudly until she gets distracted and I throw it away. Well no one can say Aleksa is boring right?
