Camera Woes....

We went to get Aleksa's pictures taken at *a photo studio in a well known department store today* (I know not the greatest but we are in law school...) anyways- they did get a few cute shots- but overall a disappointment. Our photographer, unlike last time, was well lets just say they must practice on the job training- I think she was training on us. Long story short- it all turned out just fine but it just cemented that I will be getting a new camera sometime soon maybe for my birthday. My camera just can't keep up with Aleksa- either she's too fast or it's too slow. I am wondering what everyone else is shooting with and how well you like it. I know I can't buy my dream camera but I should be able to get a pretty nice one. So let me know....

Easter Happenings

Saturday Aleksa went to her first ever Easter Egg hunt. She was more of an observer than a participant- we just don't move fast enough. Next year... next year... We did bring some eggs just for her so she had some in her basket.
Here she is Easter morning. Aleksa loves to sleep in (to like 10:00!)- we have been trying to break her of the habit- this is why she looks so sleepy in her pictures- we pulled her out of bed to see her basket.
It was fun because she was actually interested in everything in her basket- as long as she could put it in her mouth.
Hey an egg!!
The things my parents make me wear... I think she looks a lot like my baby pictures in this picture.
I don't know what this is but I like it.
This isn't a great picture of her in her dress- we are going tomorrow to get them professionally taken- stay tuned.

Hey... who's that cute baby?

Who knew a mirror could be so much fun??

Six Months

Aleksa is SIX months!!! I took some pictures of her- they didn't turn out very well (another plug for a new camera). I think I will reshoot these pictures to see if I can get better light... I painted the "A" for her room and am currently working on a mirror that kind of matches.

Easter Eggs...

Last night we went to the Ammon's house to color eggs. We had a great time. Aleksa was more interested in the newspaper covering the table than she was in any of the eggs.

Silly girl.
Cam, Aleksa, Carson, Matthew and Carter.
Aleksa helping me put an "A" on her egg so we would know which was hers.
Crumpling the paper.
Aleksa's egg soaking in the pink.
Cam was quite the artist when it came to coloring eggs. All of his eggs turned out cuter than mine. Go figure.

Winnie the Pooh...

Here are some pictures of Aleksa playing with her stackable Winnie the Pooh. She fits right in!!

Aleksa's Room- Part One

I know, I know, Aleksa is six months old, but her room is finally coming together. Here are some pictures of our efforts today! Stay tuned!

Luck of the Irish...

I love St. Patrick's day! So much! This year I decided to cook Corned Beef and Cabbage for dinner. We had some friends over BUT.... the recipe was sadly mistaken on the amount of time it would take to cook. Long story short- our friends came at 7:00 pm- we had planned dinner for 7:30 pm- we ate at 9:30 pm. It was so embarrassing! At least it was good. I also tried a new cheesecake (it's quickly becoming an obsession)- tonight I did luck o' the Irish cheesecake- which is fancy for peppermint chocolate chip- it was like a thin mint cheesecake- pretty yum. I made some hair bows for Aleksa and Sophie. You may not think it to look at this picture but Aleksa and Sophie are quickly becoming great little buddies. Don't worry- no babies were harmed (or even cared) while taking these photos. Esp. now that Aleksa can hold her own and is a lot more laid back. At church we sit behind Sophie and they will chit chat during the meeting.

Sophie got ahold of Aleksa's bow. That's what happens when you try to whip a bow up in 10 minutes. :) (I knew I should have spent more time but I figured it was only good for one night.)

Sundays are the best.

I love Sundays. Not only do we get to go to church but we LOVE our ward and all the people in it. We also get to spend time with daddy- the whole day no homework- YEA! But I also get to dress up our little cutie. Thanks to Roger and Ashley for the outfit- I have been waiting almost a year for her to wear it. My smile is so dorky- but she looks so cute!!!

Once again I have a retarded smile but she looks so cute I had to post this picture.

Alma the Younger...

Our primary has a scripture hero come once a month and talk to the children. Cam was asked to come as Alma the Younger. Here is the outfit we came up with. In junior primary Cam asked the kids if they had ever seen an angel- expecting the kids to say no. Don't worry- a little girl raised her hand and said she saw an angel and he told her to dance. Cam said he felt like he was on his mission again. In senior primary Cam didn't ask that question again. But had several children call out- You're not Alma the Younger- You're Brother Walker. To which Cam replied, "I get that a lot but I'm not nearly as good looking as Brother Walker....." Oh Brother......

A girl after my own heart...

Cam put this box of cookies in her car seat as we walked up the stairs. When we got in the apartment Aleksa was already going to town on the box. If only she knew what goodness was inside!!!

A Walker Tradition...

This is a Walker tradition. As soon as a baby can lock their legs they hold the baby's feet in one hand and balance them. Aleksa is almost too old to do this because she likes to step up and down. We had to get some pictures of her before it was too late.

Sundresses...

Oh how I love sundresses!!! I am so lucky that I had a girl. I love dressing her up- I just love it. I know the light isn't great but here she is making some cute little faces.
I love this picture of her little feet poking out.
Such a little goof, but we love her.

Any which way

I have been trying to get pictures of Aleksa in the act but still have not managed. Aleksa likes to suck on the edge of her binky and if she can swing it will suck on the nipple and the edge at the same time. Here are some of her sucking on the edge.

Future Dentist?

I read in a book that it was good for babies to have their gums brushed. I also know that just because it's written in a book does not mean it's the only way. But I thought we'd give this a try. It turns out that Aleksa LOVES having her gums brushed and LOVES to brush them herself. She loves her duckie toothbrush. The handle is made so babies can easily hold it which makes it easier for her. We even use her toothbrush as incentive for her to roll over and scoot and it works- nothing gets between this little girl and her toothbrush.

Sweetness from our life.....

We haven't put new pictures up in a while and I know that everyone is dying to see new pictures of our cutie (well at least the grandparents are). She is growing up very fast and getting so big. This morning was lots of fun. Aleksa had just wet on our carpet and I had just got her clean and dressed. I dressed her in a brand new outfit and after this picture was taken she had a HUGE blowout! Oh the joys of motherhood. I was upset that she had first wet the carpet and now this so I looked at her and in a stern voice said "Aleksandra! Why did you do this?!!!" She took one look at me and her little chin quivered and she started to cry. I felt so awful!!! And to make matters worse she was covered in poo so I couldn't hug her and say I was sorry until I cleaned her up. But you better believe she was hugged and cuddled to death afterwards!
The weather is finally acting like spring here! On this day it was about 70 degrees so we all went out on the porch. Aleksa buzzed all around and we discovered that our porch is not even-she kept ending up right next to the rail.
Cam even came out to study outside. Of course Aleksa was right next to him, helping him get his homework done- well at least giving him cute little smiles.
Aleksa is excited for Spring too!
