Welcome Home Sister Shelley!

The whole reason Aleksa and I went to Utah this summer was to stay with Tori while my mom and dad were in France and to welcome home our little sister missionary- so its only fitting that my first post back be about Shelley's homecoming.

We wanted to put a big bow on her car- we were thinking of something like this.

What she got was this. All of my mom's Christmas bows- not quite the look we were going for but much more funny.

In true Daun fashion- we were late picking her up! Can you believe it after 18 months of waiting for her to get home from France we are running behind. My mom and dad never told us the flight number either so we were sweating it while we were speeding to the airport. As we pulled into the airport my dad called- great. We told him we weren't there yet and to not come down until we called him. Apparently they came straight from France so they weren't even at the baggage claim we thought they would be at- they were at the International Terminal. So we had to go and round up Shelley's friends and get all situtated before my dad would let Shelley come through the little divide. But it all ended well- I cried like a baby when I saw her- heck I started to cry when my mom and dad walked out first. She hugged everyone -I got four pictures and my camera died- story of my life.

But she's home now and we are so happy that she is back. She brought some fabulous presents and chocolate and a darling french accent. She served well and helped many people find the gospel. We loved listening to her stories about the people of France.
Welcome Home Shelley.

Leaving on a jet plane....

Aleksa and I will be gone this month in Utah- so all of you Arkansans please take care of Cam for me. I thought I would leave you with a picture we took last night at the Arkansas Natural's baseball game. This is Aleksandra petting a lion cub- can you believe it? We all got to touch the cub- she was very soft and nice as long as you stayed away from her cute mouth full of long razor sharp teeth. Aleksa also petted pigs, goats, sheep and a 15 foot python- gross. The wild safari was in the outfield at the game and it totally made our night. How often do you get to touch a lion?!

Craft Envy

Okay, because I have so much time to waste floating around looking at crafts on the Internet... I found these bean bags tonight that I HAVE to make how cute are they?! There is a great tutorial here: http://lilblueboo.blogspot.com/2009/07/beanbag-tutorial-learning-to-spell.html.

Okay, because I have even more time- I made these today- I did at least clean my house and take Aleksa to the park before I made them... I made a few changes to her tutorial- I cut fabric letters out and fused them and then stitched them to the beanbags- I think it gives it a nice look. Aleksandra has a really long name- it took a while. I want to do the whole alphabet now but can't decide whether to add more colors in or finish the alphabet in pink and brown- thoughts?

Thanks Cam

I never really get any pictures of Aleksa and I together- I'm usually the one taking the pictures. Aleksa wanted to take some pictures tonight and Cam took some photos of us. I told Aleksa that we were doing photoshot and she ran and grabbed two snacks so we could have some goodies while we had our pictures taken. At first it kind of bothered me that Cam just kept shooting and shooting even when we weren't ready but I am glad that he did the results are below....

I'm Back.......

I know I know... its been a really long time since I have posted anything. Over a month I think. Well things have been crazy but I finally have some pictures to sum up the last month.
Aleksa has really become my little best friend. The morning we took this hilarious picture we just sat and sang songs and played. This face is Aleksa's smile- I finally caught it on camera- too cute!
We went to Aunt BB's graduation. Aleksa always calls Brook "BB" even though she can say Brook. Congrats Brookie on your graduation- you are growing up so fast!

We visited family. Here we are with my grandpa and grandma Daun.

We got a puppy who we may actually keep ( I have really bad allergies to her but I am trying a few things to see if they work). Her name is Lucy and Cameron and Aleksa are totally in love with her- I am in like with her. She is a miniature King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. And despite making me feel like my head will explode is probably the best behaved puppy that you could ask for especially since Cam is potty training her and taking all the night shifts- hey I took the night shifts with the baby and will potty train her so whats fair is fair- right?

And oh yeah, still working on expanding my business her is a preview of my items for posh princess, modelled by my princess.
