Week in review

This week has been another busy one, but after hearing President Monson's talk I am inclined to be grateful for these busy days, hand prints on my windows, and goldfish crumbs on my carpet. Here are some other things I am grateful for: Cam received two job offers for next summer in Fayetteville, I sold many bows and a tutu dress, Aleksa got some great deals at yard sales including a little tykes vanity and a pile of gymboree clothes for under $20, General Conference, meeting Justice Sandra Day O'Conner and spending time as a family.
Here is Aleksa in her Halloween outfit and tutu. I love having a little girl to make girly things for even if she only tolerates them.
Last weekend there was a huge bike rally in Fayetteville, it's the largest charitable bike rally in the U.S. They estimated that there were 300,000 people and 100,000 bikes. Last year we didn't go so we decided to take Aleksa down. We saw the bikes and got the world's best funnel cake.
It was about 3 inches tall and had six toppings; blueberry, strawberry, cherry, apple, Bavarian cream and chocolate. Try as we might we did not even come close to finishing it but we loved trying.
One morning I took Aleksandra to the park after we dropped Cam off at school. She loved the swing. I tried to take her out and she told me no for the first time!
After the swings we went on a walk around the park and found the most amazing garden- we will be going back for even more pictures!
The Hon. Sandra Day O'Conner came to dedicate Cam's law school. Aleksa and I went up to see the ceremony. Cam signed up to be an usher and was able to meet her, shake her hand and have a picture taken with her! She is a really neat lady and we were excited that Aleksandra was able to see the first woman Supreme Court Justice, even if she won't remember it.

TarpTies

My dad and his business partner just launched a new product. The product is called TarpTies. It's a great idea- if you have ever used a tarp you how annoying it is when a grommet rips out or there isn't a grommet where you need one. My dad's product is a grommetless tarp with special ties that will not rip off, that can be put wherever you want them and can be used on any tarp. It has been two years in the making and it is finally in stores! Costco is running a test run with the TarpTies and if the test run goes well then they will put my dad's product in all 390 stores! He could use your help if you live near one of the test stores or know someone who does. The TarpKit should retail for around $22. I have listed all of the sites where the kits will debut if you could forward this on to any family or friends that you think might be interested in this great product! Thanks so much! Long Lost Friends

I have been meaning to post this for a while but I am horrible at this, which is why Heather runs our blog. These are my friends tat I saw in St. Petersburg. Kostia was a member that was in Novosibirsk (but he is from Tomsk) while I was there and Andrei, who is from Novo, was my mini missionary in Omsk. Andrei is serving a full-time mission in St. Petes and Kostia finished one in St. Petes and has since moved back to St. Petes to work. Kostia happened to be speaking that Sunday (and for those of you who know Russia he was telling about the temptation of the Summer Dacha Season).

More Birthday...

Yes, we made Aleksandra dress up in her halloween costume to open presents. We are getting our money's worth for her costume if nothing else.

Daddy plays dress up....

Okay so the title may be a little misleading but oh well. I came home from the store one night and Cam had "dressed Aleksa up." He was so proud of her outfit. I just had to laugh because I dress her up all the time before Cam comes home and then I show her off. The difference in our outfit choices was also funny to me. But I think the cutest part was that they were matching....I have no clue what she has in her mouth in this picture...

Cam even used a hair tie to tie up the back of the jersey so that Aleksa could run around. Too bad 'The' Ohio State didn't fare so well.

Milk comes in chocolate?!!! Why didm't anyone tell me!!!

The other night I wasn't feeling well and all that sounded good was chocolate milk so we went to go get some. On the way home Cam decided to grab a movie- Aleksa and I decided to stay in the car- well she started to cry and get fussy. I handed her my closed milk so she could suck on the outside of the bottle. It seemed to work. As we pulled into the apartment complex I heard giggles and squeals from the backseat and I knew what had happened. She had gotten the lid off the bottle and was just pouring chocolate milk into her mouth and all over her face. The bottle was almost empty. Her car seat was covered, there was milk down her back, and in her diaper. All we could do was laugh- what other option was there?

Happy 1st Birthday Peachy!!!

Here are some of the pictures from Aleksandra's birthday party on Friday night. She had some friends over for pizza and cake. She loved the cake!!!! She didn't want any piece of cake to go to waste. She also loved all of her presents so thank you grandmas, grandpas, aunts and uncles! Thankyou also to Lori, Cache, Lindsey and Brook for coming out! Our internet has been really frustrating this weekend so I am going to post as many as I can while I have internet but I will post more later too.
