Walker Family Olympics

Aleksa LOVES to watch the ice skating during the Olympics, so we thought we would take her skating again today. She did really well today and by the end of the session she could pretty much get where she wanted to go. Cam and I tried out our triple axles but ended up halving them instead. Of course we forgot our good camera so all we have is footage from "Aleksa's" camera. We will bring a better camera next time. Aleksa had a blast though, it was so cute. I think we will go again tomorrow.

Disclaimer: We are sure its the bad camera that makes our jumps look wimpy- Cam said that he spun at least four times- but the poor film quality did not do his jump justice...

Proud Report...

I'm proud to report that the fourth member of our family is growing- that's right "baby"as in Aleksa's baby doll.... is growing. This morning Aleksa brought "baby" to me and asked for a pen- alarms should have sounded- they didn't I was getting my Nie fix for the day. Then I heard from the bedroom...
"oh good job baby! you growing so big! I so proud of you baby"
What?! I ran back to see and Aleksa was marking "baby's" height on her growth chart- joy. Aleksa is the proudest mom on the block this morning- she keeps telling baby over and over
"I so proud of you!"

Aleksa is all about falsifying her height as well- she is on her tiptoes here.

Pinch Proof.... Hardly

I made Aleksa this shirt for St. Patrick's Day and took her out to take some pictures in it, well it was FREEZING today so this shirt cost me $1.39 for the box of popcorn I bribed her with, she found .28 on the stairs and a nice lady over at Gift House Antiques gave Aleksa an ADORABLE coin purse because she thought she was cute. All in all not too shabby. I asked her who she wanted to give these pics to- "mmmm.... papa and sophie...." here's to you.....

Where's Waldo?

Can you spot our Waldo in this picture?

This is how Aleksa ate her breakfast yesterday and this morning. I suspect that she will eat with her Valentine's flowers until they die- which will be sooner rather than later since she loves them to death while she eats. I haven't caught her feeding the flowers breakfast yet, there's always tomorrow. Notice the flowers are red, she did not want pink she wanted razorback red.

The Little Rock Club

This past weekend Cameron and I got away for the weekend. Cam was awarded a scholarship this fall and there was a big banquet in Little Rock for the scholarship winners. We had some friends from the ward watch Aleksa and we headed to Little Rock. The dinner was held at the Little Rock Club, it was the top floor of the building with a great view of the Capitol.

It was a nice night that we spent with some of his fellow law school students and we were able to meet the people that donated the money for his scholarship.

The next day we were able to visit Central High in Little Rock, and go to the visitor's center to learn more about the Little Rock Nine. Central High was huge and beautiful, and the visitor's center was so interesting-I'm really glad we had time to go there.

In the Spirit of Valentine's Day

I see pink in our future.
Pink Coat.
Pink Lips.
Pink Eye.
Pink Medicine.

When Aleksa woke up at three am with goopy eyes- I knew it could only mean one thing- pink eye (insert gloomy music). Since I spent my fair share of time with pink eye I could tell right away. Luckily she loves her pink medicine- she begs to have it all the time.... and her eyes have already cleared right up... hooray for modern medicine and hand sanitizer.
