How sweet it is.....

The ice cream truck came for the first time this spring so we got Aleksa a popsicle. It came at the perfect time right between sessions of General Conference on Saturday. She loved it and we loved the warm weather!

Easter Pictures (Part One)

We took Aleksa out Saturday morning to take some pictures of her in her Easter dresses (we have two very nice grandmas). She did pretty good, it was a little cold out so we will try again later this week too.

Oh Aleksa, what a character!

When we took our pictures by the fountain a gust of wind came and blew her basket into the fountain. Luckily, another gust came and blew the basket back to us. A photographer saw our plight and asked us if we would like to use her baby chicks for some pictures because she was between clients. We were so excited! Aleksa LOVES birds, talking about birds, singing about birds and looking at birds. We were soon to find out that she does NOT love being by birds or touching birds. She was so scared of the chicks. She did touch one with one finger as fast as she cold but that was it, no more. I had a great time holding the little chicks, they were so soft and so sweet. Come to find out after we got home that Cam didn't really want anything to do with the chicks either.... So while Cam and I thought we were about to get the world's best Easter pictures for free- Aleksa had a whole other plan. After the chick incident Aleksa was done with pictures for the day. So we will go out this week and try and get some pictures in her other pink dress this week.

Visit from Grandma...

We had a great time when Grandma Lori came to visit. I was still sick most of the time but we were able to do some fun things. I think grandma and Aleksa were perfectly content to play with each other, Cam was content to watch March Madness and I just wanted to sleep- so all in all everyone ended up happy. We took Lori to Eureka Springs one day. I was dying to take her there- I love Eureka Springs- it is so inspiring to me. I could take photos there all day long and still have a list of places I want t look at! We had such a fun time- please come again grandma!!!

Aleksa loves flowers!

Okay, don't you just want to live here?! This house was so gorgeous!

A picture is worth a thousand words, and I don't have any words to add...
Cam and Lori at the Mexican restaurant we went to, it was very good!

Lori and I LOVED this little house!

Grandma was here for our weekly Friday night pizza picnic. Every Friday we have pizza and spread a blanket out on the floor for a picnic. Aleksa loves this- pizza and a picnic- it doesn't get much better for any of us, and Cam is just pumped that its Friday!

Lori also made her YUMMY fresh guacamole. It was so good, I think we all made ourselves sick because we could not stop.

Just like dad.

Aunt Liny- these are the flowers Aleksa picked for you on your birthday. I usually only let her pick one but on your birthday she got five!

Tutu woes...

What do you do when your little girl never wants to wear the tutus you make her? You make another one... for her dog... Since I've been under the weather and tired of laying around I decided to make a little tutu for her dog and/or baby to see if that would make her tutus any more exciting. It did. For a while- but at least she was interested about the tutu this time- until she asked me to take her tutu off and then her dog's...

Our visit from Grandpa

My dad had some meetings in Kansas City this past week and drove down to spend time with us on Thursday and Friday this week. We were sure an exciting bunch to visit- Cam had his law journal article to finish, Aleksandra was just finishing a cold and I was sick. We still had a really fun time- I'm not sure who had more fun- Aleksa or Grandpa. They played so hard that today Aleksa slept in until 9:00 am (she usually wakes up at 6:30). She loved having Grandpa here even if it was only for a day and a half. She went looking for him this morning and was sad when she couldn't find him anywhere. Of course, I have no pictures to even document that he was here... Dad- thanks for everything and all the great food! Mom-thanks for all the goodies you sent with Dad! We can't wait to see you again Grandpa- hurry and schedule some more meetings in Kansas City and we'll try not to be sick next time!

Since I have no pictures from this visit I just used my favorite of my dad and Aleksandra...

Joy's Baby Shower

My good friend Joy is expecting her second baby- a little boy and tonight Morgan and I threw her a baby shower. It was a really fun time. I had such a fun time making decorations and her present- I gotta be honest I think this is one of my all time favorite crafts, it was time consuming but I want to make more of them. We did a razorback shower for her- you've gotta live in Arkansas to understand.

I saw this on Martha Stewart online and had to make one!

Joy's mom made her this way cute razorback bedding- she even had little pigs embroidered on the corners...

Me, Joy and Morgan...
Morgan hard at work being hostess.
Here is the present I made Joy, little shirts for Sophie and Cole.

LOOK OUT Cache here comes Peach!

Cache was passed up this week by Cade who is now a 1/2 inch taller. Up next is Peach who is now 22.9 lbs. and 31 inches tall. Cache is quaking in his boots (or little red shoes). She is growing so fast it is sad she is no longer baby but she is more fun everyday. -Cameron

I look so pretty...

The other night Cam was busy with one of his many activities- I don't remember which- and Aleksa and I were home and looking for something to do. She was fresh out of the tub and I remembered my mom putting my hair in roller when I was little so I thought we'd give it a whirl. Aleksa sat pretty still the whole time and I was able to put all the rollers in I wanted. We didn't wait for her hair to dry though because I knew there was no way they would still be in by morning so her hair didn't curl quite as well as I would have liked- but it was enough for Aleksandra. She LOVED the way she looked- she just sat and looked in the mirror and smiled and told herself how pretty she looked. When is the last time any of us looked in the mirror and smiled at ourselves and were completely happy with the way we looked- if you're like me its been awhile but after seeing how completely Aleksa accepted herself I am going to try harder to be happy with me just the way I am- after all Aleksa is a pretty happy little kid maybe its a secret we should try...
